Fureru II

A solo live performance focusing on changes in the performer’s heartbeat.
The strength and tempo of heartbeats constantly shift due to complex factors such as physical activity, psychological state, and environmental conditions. In this performance, the performer’s heartbeat—significantly accelerated by the tension of the live setting—was intentionally modulated through a series of movements including sitting, standing, and walking, and shared in real time with the audience via a fabric speaker. The fabric speaker is a device that converts heartbeat sounds into vibrations using a DC motor, which in turn causes the fabric to move. Audience members can physically experience the translated heartbeat by touching the fabric or listening closely to its fluttering movements, engaging with the sound through both tactile and auditory perception. The performer’s actions were pre-composed, with deliberate changes in physical exertion and spatial relationship to the audience throughout the performance. At the same time, the acoustic experience produced by the fabric speaker was heavily influenced by the real-time fluctuations of the performer’s heartbeat and the responses of the audience. By regarding the heartbeat as an "unpredictable sound born from human corporeality," this performance explored the musical and sensory potential embedded in the body’s involuntary rhythms.

「パフォーマーの心臓音の変化」に着目したソロ・ライブパフォーマンス。 心臓音の強さやテンポは、運動量、心理状態、環境などの複合的な要因によって常に変化する。 本パフォーマンスでは、本番特有の緊張感により通常よりも著しく速くなった心拍を、座る・立つ・歩くといった基本的な動作を通して変化させ、その心臓音を布スピーカーによりリアルタイムで観客と共有した。 布スピーカーは、心臓音をDCモーターの振動に変換し、布の揺れとして再生する装置である。鑑賞者は布に触れたり、そのはためく音に耳を澄ませたりすることで、音が身体的・触覚的に翻訳された体験を得ることができる。 本作では、パフォーマーの動作をあらかじめコンポジション（作曲）し、上演中に運動量や観客との距離を変化させる構成をとった。 しかし同時に、布スピーカーによる音響体験は、その瞬間の心臓音や観客の反応にも大きく影響される。 心臓音を「人間の身体性が生み出す予測不可能な音」と捉え、その音楽的表現と身体を通じた体験の可能性を探求した。
