Keita Hori was born in Tokyo, Japan in 2002.
Studied Acoustic Design at Kyushu University, and Media Art and Communication Design at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design in Germany. Through the creation of musical instruments and acoustic devices, as well as performances utilizing them, he explores artistic and musical expressions grounded in everyday sounds and acoustic phenomena. His work critically engages with the physicality and social aspects of music, and has been presented in Germany, Switzerland, and Mexico through collaborations with emerging artists. Currently, he works as a technical staff in the Acoustic Design Department at Kyushu University, while belonging to Professor Kazuhiro Jo’s Laboratory, continuing both practice-based research and artistic production.
